So many lovely comments.
New friendships both online and in real life.

Paper Piecing

5 comments:
Yesterday morning, as I woke up ready to finish the last very few stitches for a new skirt my sewing machine broke. Ok, that's a lie, it didn't break, it just decided that permanently sewing in reverse would be a hoot. After a little bit of contemplating if I could make this whole doing everything backwards thing work, I dropped my machine off for a service and fix.

Missing my machine, I took to twitter last night, and the lovely Bianca gave me the idea for some hand piecing, so armed with brilliant instructions via BelindaI finished four hexagons. Yay! I might even take some along to Sew it Together (less than a month away now, yay).

See a need, fill a need

See a need (a case for my iPhone that will also hold my earphones), fill a need..

For 5 points can you name the movie that "See a need, fill a need" is from? Please tell me I'm not the only one who has been made to watch this movie numerous times by little people.

Happy Day Out

With my new fabric from Friday, Friday night I braved sewing with stretch for the first time making one of Tessuti's tops. I LOVE it, and the stretch fabric wasn't as scary as I thought. Dean says it's far too comfy looking and not fair.

Yesterday after shopping for a new lounge we ventured to Wagamama in the city for our first time for lunch.

Chilli squid, gyoza, san choy bao fried rolls, amai udon, mini chicken ramen and a mini chicken katsu. Isabella was in heaven, there was squid (her fave), noodles, soup and chicken all in one meal with vanilla bean ice cream (and half of Daddy's Passionfruit sorbet) to finish. That kid is bottomless.

Our kind of restaurant, a bit noisy to drown out kids, a "proper" kids menu of smaller sized adults meals, NOT chips and nuggets which they never want. Drawing, kids sized juice and at the moment, the kids eat free with an adult meal. We all left happy.

Shopping

No comments:
Quick shopping trip to Tessuti and The Remnant Warehouse today, but long enough to do some damage.

All these are intended for me, yep I went shopping and bought fabric all for myself, well except the blue binding which is for a baby quilt. The black & white striped lycra has already been made into a top, the grey below will probably be another top, and 2m of the bottom striped fabric for possibly a dress or skirt.

There is some black linen on the left and grey suiting on the right (already cut and half stitched into a wrap skirt).

Lastly, an end of roll of 3 metres in pink stripes ($6.. bargin) that are going to be PJ pants for me.

To Do Lists

7 comments:
Finshed knitting Liam's Smuggler jumper yesterday. Pattern here yarn from lush.

Finish two car wraps for a friend to give to some little boys about to embark on a long plane ride

Finish an In the Bag organiser for Ballee

Painting has all been finished (I caved on doing it myself when Bunnings stuffed the colour and had to re-do it which meant re-painting the lounge room). Once it was done, hubby and I ditched the kids and headed to Ikea for my new desk.

Also finished a new car wrap for my shop.

Nothing like getting a bunch of to do things done! Next up some winter PJs for Bella and a new skirt for me

Nimbus

5 comments:

Nimus in Sidar Denim Ultra all for me.

The yarn for this baby was a bargin. You know those people who are lucky enough to find heirlooms for $1 at op shops or rave about eBay? not me, never find anything. But at my local craft shop a few weeks back, out the front were these balls of Denim Ultra out the front in the the $3 a ball box. I grabbed 5, thinking I could make something for one of the kids.

When I got home, I came across the Nimbus pattern which was just perfect, and for ME. So after some research to buy some more balls I found out this yarn is normally $20 a ball... not quite $3 I paid. So a flying visit back to the craft store to buy the remaining 3 balls and my fingers crossed I wouldn't need to buy many more at the $20 a ball price. Luck would have it, I had just enough.. as in less than a metre left over. Yep this is my lucky cardigan, could have cost me $160 but made for $24.

Bets of all, I am wearing it as I type and it's super warm, just like being wrapped in a big knitted blanket. All I need is a button and it's all ready for the cooler days that have hit.

Easter

2 comments:
Happy Easter everyone. We had a fantastic weekend starting with our neighbors getting married on Thursday afternoon. A beautiful ceremony and a fantastic reception with much much much wine consumed.

As a surprise for when they got home from their first night as a married couple, I took over their front door with a garland with "Mr and Mrs Lambert"...

And left them a cross stitch...

Good Friday we had a bunch of friends over to eat all day including some Easter Basket Cupcakes I made using some wrappers from The Cupcake Wrapper Company. Super cute Easter Bunnies, and they are re-usable! These were a last minute purchase on Wednesday and the girls were so lovely to ship them express overnight for me to arrive Thursday..

An Easter egg hunt and big Seafood lunch at my parents Sunday and a lazy Monday topped off a great weekend.

I wish we had 4 day weekends more often.
